This website, created for Astronomy students at the University of Tennesse, contains lecture notes for an introductory astronomy course. Topics covered include the history of Astronomy and the the origins of a heliocentric model of the universe, scales in Astronomy, the Earth, moon, and sun system, the solar system and its components, charactheristics of all the planets, and properties of other extraterrestial objects like meteors, asteroids, and comets.
