Detail Page

written by Scott Schneider
This applet shows two fixed charges and the motion of a test charge with a displayed net force vector.  The user is able to set the magnitude, position, and sign of the fixed charges.  A graph of either the electric field, the electric potential, or both is also displayed.  Standard controls allow the user to start, pause, restart from pause, step, and reset the animation.  A brief explanation is provided.

This is part of a large collection of Physlet-based (Physics Java Applet) illustrations and tutorials covering introductory physics.
