STP CoinToss Program

written by Harvey Gould, Jan Tobochnik, Wolfgang Christian, and Anne Cox

The STP CoinToss program displays a histogram of the number of heads when many coins are tossed. The default number of coins tossed is 100 and the coins are fair (the probability of heads for a single coin is 0.5).

STP CoinToss is part of a suite of Open Source Physics programs that model aspects of Statistical and Thermal Physics (STP). The program is distributed as a ready-to-run (compiled) Java archive. Double clicking the stp_CoinToss.jar file will run the program if Java is installed on your computer. Additional programs can be found by searching ComPADRE for Open Source Physics, STP, or Statistical and Thermal Physics.
