Become a comPADRE Collaborator
comPADRE: Communities for Physics and Astronomy Digital Resources in Education, is a project of the AAPT, AAS, AIP, APS, and SPS to create and maintain digital collections of high quality educational materials in physics and astronomy. comPADRE consists of:
- Focused collections of materials for specific courses or serving specific constituencies, such as the Introductory College Astronomy course or Undergraduate Physics Majors,
- User communities that participate in the development and function of these collections,
- Services delivered to the communities for support and interaction,
- An umbrella organization providing technical infrastructure and working to establish new communities,
- A broad, underlying database of diverse materials on which the collections are built.
comPADRE invites those interested in physics and astronomy education or digital collections to explore collaborating with us. Possible collaborations include:
Add your resources to an existing comPADRE collection:
- You can submit your online resources to the appropriate comPADRE collection, which will allow us to link to and promote your materials.
Share collections through coordinated searches
- We are working with other digital libraries on a 'federated search' to find resources not only in comPADRE collections, but also other web resources. We comply with well-defined metadata standards, and wish to share and exchange data with other collections.
Take a lead role in developing a new comPADRE collection
- comPADRE can provide assistance with new collections. We can assist in or manage many technical aspects of collection development, including design, database development, metadata, and functional implementation. We will also help with grant-writing and finding funding for new collections.
Getting Started: If you are interested in collaboration, or for more information about comPADRE, contact us at webmaster@compadre.org.
