CU Boulder has been using Learning Assistants (LAs) in large introductory physics courses since the program began in 2003.  The model has spread across the country, supported by four LA workshops since 2007.  Though most common in physics, other departments have begun to adopt the model, including chemistry, biology and mathematics.  Each site that initiates an LA program makes adaptations to the local conditions.  Leaders from a variety of institutions will share their modifications.
