written by Laurie Langdon and Laird H. Kramer
Lauire Langdon from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Laird Kramer, from Florida International University present this workshop for faculty already familiar with the Colorado Learning Assistant (LA) model. A common issue with improving or expanding LA programs is garnering faculty buy-in and commitment to use Learning Assistants in productive ways in their course transformation efforts. This workshop will provide participants with training and materials for running faculty workshops at their own institutions. Participants will also analyze faculty proposals for using LAs in their courses and engage in small group discussions. With more than 40 institutions now running LA programs, this will be a great opportunity to share strategies for faculty development.
