Building a Thriving Undergraduate Physics Program Workshop Hotel and Travel

Dates and Location

The Building a Thriving Undergraduate Physics Program workshop will take place at the American Center for Physics and the Hilton Garden Inn in College Park, MD and will run 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, June 10; 8:30 am to 7:45 pm on Monday, June 11; and 8:30 am to 12 pm on Tuesday, June 12. Events on Sunday and Tuesday will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, Monday's events will be at ACP.

Housing

Hotel rooms are available at the Hilton Garden Inn in the American Physical Society room block at a reduced rate of $114/night. Please reserve your room by May 20 to ensure you will get the reduced rate. To make a reservation, call the hotel and ask for the APS room block (group code JPAPS).

Meals

Your workshop registration includes workshop registration and materials, a reception on the 10th, lunch and dinner on the 11th, and snacks and soft drinks all days. If you book your hotel room with the APS code at the Hilton Garden Inn, the room rate includes breakfast.

Transportation

We recommend traveling to College Park through BWI or Reagan National (DCA) airports. Detailed directions to the American Center for Physics are available on the visit ACP page. Transportation from the hotel to ACP will be provided.

Travel Support for Minority-Serving Institutions

We are committed to supporting minority-serving institutions that are interested in strengthening their undergraduate physics program, and are offering a limited number of stipends of up to $800 to qualified institutions to support travel to the workshop.
