To link to a file's summary page, use the File: embed code. To link directly to a file, use the Media: embed code.
For instance, to link to a file with an embed code of Media:0, in Mediawiki, use [[Media:0]]; in HTML, href="Media:0"; and in WYSIWYG, use Media:0 for the url.
While File:filename works, it is not recommended as incorrect linking may occur if two users upload files with the same name (e.g. dissertation.pdf).
