Abstract Title: Connecting epistemology to students’ religious beliefs
Abstract: The religious beliefs and personal values of students may affect their epistemologies. At our faith-based institution, we are encouraged to incorporate "faith integration" into all courses. We have used this as an opportunity to incorporate daily discussions on epistemological issues into introductory physics classes, intended to elucidate character traits that are beneficial to scientists and to compare and contrast scientific epistemology with the religious beliefs of the majority of our students. We present data gathered with the EBAPS survey from courses with and without this intervention.
