| Abstract Title: | Preliminary Study of the Effects of the Use of Self Awarded Homework Extensions |
|---|---|
| Abstract: | One of the results of advances in technology is an increased use of online homework delivery systems. These usually differ in the mechanics of question delivery, student input, grading, and feedback mechanisms. However, regardless of all the bells and whistles, our ultimate goal is to get the students to complete the homework to improve their learning. In this preliminary study, we investigate the usage patterns and the impact on homework completion and course grade of self awarded homework extensions. The homework delivery mechanism used in the study is a simple locally developed system. The course used is a second semester introductory physics course. |
