Physics Education (India)
Bridging the gap in physics between school and university
written by Lillian C. McDermott
How to bridge the gap between school and university seems to be a world-wide problem for physics educators. A few examples from research on student understanding in physics provide a focus for examining certain aspects of the way the subject has traditionally been taught. Some questions are raised. The answers have implications that should be considered in efforts to smoothen the transition in physics between secondary school and university.
