This is an interactive homework problem for introductory physics students relating to velocity and acceleration due to gravity.  A hot-air balloon moves at uniform altitude toward a target on the ground.  Given the height of the balloon above ground, its distance horizontally from target, and its velocity, the student must determine when the object should be released to hit the target.  A Socratic-dialog "help" sequence is provided to encourage critical thinking as students do a guided conceptual analysis before attempting the mathematics.
