The Jetpack: From Comics to a Liftoff in the Yard

Inventor Glenn Martin, 48, from New Zealand, plans to unveil what he calls "the world's first practical jetpack" at the EAA AirVenture, the gigantic annual air show. Martin plans to begin selling the jetpack next year at $100,000 apiece. For those who still dream of flying, the jetpack offers the possible fulfillment of this yearning. It is reported that Mr. Martin's machines can run for 30 minutes.
