This Exploratorium Science Snack contains an activity utilizing a Cartesian diver, a tube that barely floats when placed in water. The diver is made from a condiment packet and placed in a squeezable plastic bottle where it will float or sink according to changes in pressure. You'll find an explanation of what happens in terms of fluids and mechanics, lists materials needed, and offers assembly instructions.
