Try out your sense of relative motion with this applet. You are looking down on a river, with objects floating by, a boat moving, and a person walking by, who can also swim across. You can view the motion of the frame of reference of any of these and watch how the others moved. Also, you can watch a bouncing ball as seen from the various frames.
