This applet simulates the transfer of radiation through an atmosphere of atoms. The user can control the slab width, the total number of atoms in the slab, the albedo of the atoms and the cross-sections as functions of color. In the applet the user can see where the photons are located at any time. Histograms show the number of photons that have been reflected to the sky, that are still in the slab, and that are transmitted to the ground.
