Close Approach of Moon and Mars on August 25
published by Universe Today The closest approach of Mars to Moon will take place on August 25, 2006 around 13:12:11 UT. The Moon and Mars will be visible just after sunset above the western horizon. Another near occultation occurred last month on August 27. Both events are difficult to observe because the waxing crescent Moon is just two days past new. The image shows the western horizon as it might appear from the eastern US at 8:20 PM EDT on August 25. http://www.universetoday.com/2006/07/27/no-mars-wont-look-as-big-as-the-moon-... |
