Computation and Simulation in the Advanced Lab |
| Abstract: |
"Computational Physics" is a hot topic in the physics community that can carry a variety of different meanings with different objectives in the advanced lab setting. In this breakout session we will look at a few different roles that computational physics can play in the advanced lab and how they can be implemented into undergraduate physics programs. We will present these approaches to computational physics in a panel session. Each panel member will be given 5-8 minutes to present their perpectives on computational physics. The remaining time will be devoted towards Q & A. I hope that the discussion will be lively and informative. As moderator, I may at times encourage discussions to be continued after the conclusion of the breakout session in order to provide the opportunity for a variety of perspectives to be presented in the scheduled time for this session. |
