Advanced Demonstrations for the Classroom and the Laboratory |

These are not the typical demonstrations used in physics demo shows, but they will be limited to those that can be completed in a few minutes and have short assembly times. The demos in this hour will include such fare as "Showdown: Toepler Holtz vs. Wimshurst", "Pohl's Mica", "Decomposition of He-Ne Laser Spectrum", "Sweeping Orthogonal Modes in a Laser", "Single Photon", "Bed of Nail" [sic], "Radioactive Ballasts", and "Half-Spin". For demonstrations that take more time to prepare, we will provide a handout sample of the PIRA Demonstration Bibliography, and a list of standard demonstrations for advanced courses with links to AJP and TPT references. |
