| Description: | The Renewable Energy Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (REMRSEC) REU program invites exceptional undergraduate math, science, and engineering students to participate in a ten-week summer research program addressing fundamental materials issues related to the science and technology of renewable energy. These highly interdisciplinary studies focus on multiple areas that are open to all materials science, engineering (all disciplines), physics, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science majors. |

| Additional Information: | The Colorado School of Mines has established the first NSF-funded research center dedicated solely to renewable energy. Working in close collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Center tackles important engineering and science problems in the renewable energy field. An interdisciplinary team of approximately 40 faculty from the Colorado School of Mines, as well as staff from the Colorado Energy Research Initiative and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, mentor students in the following opportunities: MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS 1. Hybrid Energy Systems for Oil Shale Production 2. Hydrogen Storage in Clathrate Hydrates and Silicon Clathrates 3. Microstructural Design of Composite Membranes 4.
