The Physics Front website will be unavailable Friday evening through Saturday afternoon as electrical work occurs in the American Center of Physics server room. Down time will begin at 6PM Eastern Time on Friday. Service is expected to resume by 6PM on Saturday, July 30.
This applet demonstrates space and time in special relativity. The special theory of relativity is the result of two postulates. The laws of physics are the same in all inertial reference frames and the speed of light in empty space is the same for all inertial frames. From the above two postulates, a classical understanding of space and time has to be modified.
