Two springs are attached to the ends of a cart that is on a cart track. If the cart is pulled back and released, it will move back and forth as shown in the animation. The graph shows the acceleration of the cart as a function of time (position is given in meters and time is given in seconds). Restart.

  1. At what time(s) is the acceleration of the cart equal to zero?
  2. Where is the acceleration a maximum? A minimum?
  3. What is the area under the graph for the interval from t = 0.5 s to t = 1.0 s?
