|Description:||A 1-week introduction to Modeling Instruction in chemistry (July 7 to 11) followed by a 1-week intermediate Modeling Workshop (July 14 to 18) in chemistry will be held at the University High School in Carmel: 2825 West 116th Street.

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm each day
The workshop is sponsored by the Northern Indiana Science, Mathematics and Engineering Collaborative (NISMEC) for Indiana teachers of physics, chemistry, physical science and math.
Additional Modeling Workshops in summer 2014 include:
[Feb. 2014: we do not recommend the NISMEC workshops at Hammond, and at Evansville, as ways to learn Modeling Instruction, because the peer leaders have not had sufficient training to meet AMTA standards for depth of understanding of Modeling Instruction.]

|Cost:||Free for Indiana teachers; $600 per week registration for non-Indiana teachers|
College Transcript Credit
|Benefit Explanation:||Indiana teachers receive a stipend, if funding is sufficient.
A light breakfast, and am and pm snacks, will be provided.
1st year AMTA membership will be provided.
6 whiteboards will be provided (24" x 32").
Teachers can register at Notre Dame University for $400 per credit, up to 3 credits for 3 workshop weeks. It is okay to register for zero credits for no cost.
|Other Prerequisites:||Two semesters of college chemistry.
A 5-day introduction to chemistry Modeling Instruction (ex. July 7 to 11) is prerequisite for the 5-day intermediate Modeling Workshop (July 14-18).
