Our department teaches all the core physics courses required for bachelor and Master Program in Teacher Education and teacher Certification for integrated science and physics. The department conducts specialized  physics courses for high school teachers who are in the Master of Arts in Multidisciplinary Science (MAMS).

Some of the faculty in physics collaborate with College of Education  faculty in research in science education. the department is a member of Michigan Science Teachers Association(MSTA) and Detroit Metro AREA Physics Teachers(DMAPT).

The objective is to initiate an effort in the State's science curriculum so that Physics can be introduced at the elementary school level in Michigan K-12 schools and more schools offer AP physics courses.
