At Ithaca College, the Physics Department has offered a BA in Physics Teaching for some time.  Recently, however, we have begun offering an MA in Physics Teaching.  In addition to students in these formal programs, we often find that students in our other degree programs pursue a teaching career after they graduate.  With this in mind, we are seeking ways of giving more of our students an early teaching or tutoring opportunity coupled with training to increase their pedagogical content knowledge.  We are eager to tap into the wealth of experience among PTEC schools which have demonstrably effective programs in this area. We have also been awarded a NSF Robert Noyce Teaching Scholarship Program award to assist 18 additional physics and mathematics students become teachers.
