Texas A&M has several very active mechanisms for teacher certification, for students seeking a baccalaureate degree and also post-baccalaurate and alternative certification programs.  We are a large undergraduate institution and also a Tier 1 research university.  We have a large physics faculty (68) and about 100 undergraduate physics majors.  But we currently produce very few physics degree recipients who also get teacher certification.  PTEC membership will assist us in making our students more aware of teacher certification and in recruiting more of our majors in to certification programs.
