We have proposed to replace an existing option within the BS major in physics for secondary education with a BA major that would be suitable for education students. We have had extensive discussion with the education department regarding the program. As yet, we have not had any students go through the existing major, but we expect that the proposed change would make the program more attractive. We plan to continue discussions with the education department regarding the program and to seek means to fund scholarships for students pursuing the program.
