At Mercer University, we want to do what we can to improve the preparation of future high school physics teachers in the state of Georgia. However, we have not yet been able to graduate any significant number of future physics teachers. Ocassionally one of our physics graduates (BA or BS) goes on to get a Master's degree in science education, or begins to teach physics at the high school level without a specific degree. Our students also have the option to obtain secondary teacher certification from Mercer's Tift School of Education.
