Problem 12.7: Determining the properties of half wells

Please wait for the animation to completely load.

The animations show both a ∨-shaped potential energy well and a half infinite-half ∨-shaped potential energy well. The half well is created by splitting the original well in half by inserting an infinite wall at the origin. To see the other bound states, simply click-drag in the energy level diagram on the left to select a level. The selected level will turn red.   Compare and contrast the energy eigenfunctions and the energy levels of these two related wells.
