Problem 11.1: Characterize the finite wells by width and depth

Please wait for the animation to completely load.

The energy spectrum of a set of 9 finite square wells is shown.  In the animation, ħ = 2m = 1. To see the other bound states, simply click-drag in the energy level diagram on the left to select a level. The selected level will turn red. By using the energy level diagram, categorize each of the finite wells according to its depth (shallow, moderate, or deep) and width (narrow, moderate, or wide).   NOTE: there are 9 depth-width combinations. Use each pair of descriptors (for example: shallow and wide) once. Restart.
