International Journal of Science EducationIJSE began as the European Journal of Science Education, changing its name in 1988. The journal is associated with the European Science Education Research Association, ESERA. The editor is John Gilbert. IJSE is published fourteen (12? 10?) times a year. It is perhaps the leading European science education journal.
Papers in IJSE are on discipline-based education research, with results ranging from evaluation of classroom learning to social issues in teacher training.
Seminal PER papers in the IJSE (and before it the EJSE) include Viennot's articles on kinematics and control of variables as well as diSessa and Sherin's article on coordination classes.
