This item is an animation relating to conservation of angular momentum in an orbiting object. The user can choose between an elliptical or circular orbit to observe why angular momentum is conserved in either case. Clicking on either the planet or the satellite will display coordinates.
This item is part of a larger collection of simulation-based activities developed by the author to support first semester introductory physics curriculum. See Related Materials on this page for a link to the full index.
