This item is an interactive Java tutorial that simulates an industrial stereoscope with a zoom ratio of 15x.  The stereoscopic microscope is designed with two separate optical paths and two eyepieces to produce a 3-D visualization.  This simulation features diverse specimens including an integrated circuit, a tungsten filament, and a moth wing.

It is part of a larger collection of virtual microscopy simulations developed for teachers and learners of introductory optics.  See Related items on this page for a link to the full index virtual microscopy simulations.

Please note that this resource requires Java.
